In the summer 1987, after decades of neglect and decay, the mansion of Judge M. Lynn Bruce of Andes got a new owner - Ron Guichard, a fellow andesian, who had big plans with the building. He would like to restore it to its original glory, to be the same icon of the town as it was in the days of Judge Bruce. But as times change, so does the function - Mr. Guichard's dream is to turn the Ballantine Mansion to its original state, then to a cosy bed-and-breakfast, that cannot be found in the area.
