Welcome to Andes Section

Andes was formed from Middletown, April 13, 1819. It lies on the southeast border of the county, east of the center. Its surface is a broken and hilly upland, intersected by the deep, narrow ravines of the eastern branch of the Delaware and its branches. The hills are high, rocky, and irregular, and are bordered by steep declivities. The Delaware flows southwest through near the center of the town. Trempers Kil, Little Bush Kil, and Shaw Brook are the other principal streams. The valleys of these streams are all narrow and tortuous and are bordered by rocky hillsides. A considerable portion of the town is still covered with forests.
