Ballantine Manor
Built in 1854
- Ballantine Manor was built by Duncan Ballantine in 1854. Duncan came to Andes from Bovina, NY.
- Duncan's estate consisted of the Manor, his bank's building, his son's James residence and general store and a carriage house with an attached barn.
- A print from the late 19th century shows the set up of the Ballantine Estate with the Victorian Style porch.
- Lt. Governor Matthew Linn Bruce married Duncan's daughter Lillian and renovated the estate in 1910. He added the Greek Revival elements to the buildings.
